Regional Events
BACCN Events by Region
BACCN is made up of 9 regions covering the whole of the UK. Each Region has its own Regional Committee of BACCN members who provide support - educational and otherwise - to critical care nurses across their region. This includes the organisation and execution of both face to face and online study events which are available to members and non-members.

Study Event of the Year - Northern Region – ARDS
This event was a full day online event – the first run by the newly formed Northern region, and led by Chair Liz Ellis, which now encompasses a larger geographical area and membership. There was a very high uptake with over 200 registrants and a high amount of excellent feedback which mentioned appreciation of it being easily accessible, very informative with lots of chance to ask question throughout, and that presenters were friendly, welcoming and engaging. Regional Committee Member of the Year 2024 - Susie Henwood – Wales
Susie was nominated by her committee as someone has demonstrated great flexibility & dedication to the committee over the past few years. Susie stepped in as secretary when the existing secretary was pregnant and not always able to attend our regional meetings. Susie has been instrumental in the success of our regional study days. She has presented sessions, found speakers and chaired sessions. Susie is excellent at promoting the work of the BACCN & always keen to attend conference. I’d be lost without her on the committee.
Most Outstanding Region 2024 -South East
This region is still the largest in terms of membership and held two online study events – in particular this region made a decision to change their annual planned face to face full day event to online due to the number of attendees that could not make the event in person. In a short turnaround time they dedicated themselves to rejigging the program and communicating with the presenters and attendees effectively to rearrange and attract over 60 attendees online for a very positive and engaging study event, the recording and slides from which can be found in the members area.
Most Innovative Committee of the Year 2024 - South West
The South West region arranged a series of six, 30 minute Turbo Sessions, which could be attended in person or remotely. The recordings from these sessions can be found in the members area.
